Use this to audit a page or site for search visibility and give back a fix list ordered by impact.

What to look at

Crawl and index. Can it be reached and stored?

• robots.txt not blocking what should be indexed
• No stray noindex on pages that want traffic
• Canonical tags present and pointing at themselves on the canonical version
• Sitemap exists, is current, and lists only indexable URLs
• Each page reachable within three clicks of the homepage

On-page. Does it say what it is?

• One h1 per page, describing the page rather than the brand
• Title tag under about 60 characters, specific, keyword near the front
• Meta description written for a human deciding whether to click
• Heading hierarchy that follows content structure
• Descriptive alt text on images that carry meaning; empty alt on decorative ones
• Internal links using real anchor text, not "click here" or "read more"

Structured data. Where it applies: Organization, Article, Product, FAQ, BreadcrumbList. Validate it. Invalid markup is worse than none.

Performance. Core Web Vitals — LCP, CLS, INP. Mobile first, since that is what gets indexed.

Content. Thin pages, duplicates, pages competing with each other for the same query, and anything stale enough to be wrong.

The output

Three buckets, and be honest about which is which:

1. Do now — broken, blocking indexation, cheap to fix.
2. Do next — real gains, real effort.
3. Watch — worth knowing, not worth doing yet.

For each finding: what is wrong, where, why it matters, and the specific fix. No generic advice. "Improve your content" is not a finding.

Rules

• Never promise a ranking. Nobody can.
• Distinguish what is broken from what is merely not optimal.
• If the site is technically sound and the problem is that the content does not deserve to rank, say that.
